How To Get More Traffic To Your Blog Using Social Media

Let’s admit it: being a fashion blogger and online influencer is not only about attending parties, drinking poolside cocktails, getting free stuff, and showing off vanity on every social media platform, such as Instagram and Snapchat. There is one thing that must be put on the first line of the ‘Important Things Bucket’: getting more website traffic!

I would love to share the “5 Ways To Get Blog Traffic Using Social Media” in this Let's Talk About It section. I have been blogging part-time for more than 3,5 years now, and due to lack of time, I have learned to choose the best ways to get more traffic from the social media networks I use. Until today, I have only used Instagram, Facebook, Twitter,  Pinterest, and Tumblr. I shared my thoughts on using Snapchat in another post before, and I decided not to use Snapchat for now.

1. Updating the link on your Instagram profile description

Each time I publish a new article on my blog, I include the link on my Instagram account. Instead of just pasting the link, I find it beneficial to write a brief and captivating description in the About section to give followers an idea of what the post covers. You can also opt for shortened links from services like Bitly or Gooogle to easily track traffic, or simply use the full link. Personally, I use short links via the WordPress Jetpack feature or the full link, as both methods are accurately measured by Google Analytics.

2. Drive Traffic to your website from Facebook

First, create a Facebook page for your site and start building a fan base. The more fans you have, the wider reach your content will have. It is also important to share your content on your Facebook page and then share it from there to your personal account. Having a Facebook page can also improve your search engine rankings, as it is another indicator of your digital presence when people are searching for you on Google.

Lastly, I've been using Facebook Ads since last year to promote my articles and generate paid traffic and reach. It's ultimately up to you whether or not you want to do this, but if you're looking to grow and become a professional blogger, investing in your blog is essential. Trust me; you'll gain more than just traffic.

3. Share your articles on Twitter

It's essential to keep in mind the following information:

Taking this step might seem obvious, but it can also be quite time-consuming and overwhelming. However, I have a helpful tip to share. I have been using WordPress.org as my blogging platform and have not regretted my decision. It appears that WordPress is specifically tailored for blogging and is much more effective than Tumblr. All you need to do is install a plugin called "Revive Old Posts." This plugin will handle the task of repurposing your old content and automatically resharing it on your Twitter account. Additionally, it's crucial to add your website link to your Twitter profile page.

4. Add a link to your Pinterest and start pinning

When you incorporate links to your various social media platforms, it's akin to giving your blog's SEO a healthy dose of nourishment. Not only does this practice assist in making your website more discoverable, but it also allows you to begin sharing your compelling fashion blog content on Pinterest boards. A great approach is to curate and blend your own posts with other relevant internet articles. This method adds an inclusive feel to your boards, making them more attractive to your followers.

5. Posting your blog to your Tumblr page

I have been actively engaged with my Tumblr page for a longer duration compared to my presence on other social media platforms. Initially, I delved into blogging on Tumblr due to its user-friendly interface and accessibility. Over time, my usage has evolved, and my Tumblr is primarily utilized to share my blog posts and curate captivating content by reblogging materials from my network.
