Do you remember the New Year resolutions you made? I can recall only one: Aim for Happiness!
Half a year and a month have passed since the New Year with its resolutions and goals. It's possible that the summer slowed down progress or that you haven't given much thought to your goals.
I know the feeling. This year seems challenging. I've used my 12-month gym membership less than half as effectively as I had hoped. Also, I haven't been as mindful about upgrading my lifestyle and being more free in my daily life. And I've been travelling less than I intended. On the bright side, I managed to redesign my blog, which I'm proud of. But when it comes to writing more meaningful and excellent content, I haven't made much progress.
If you're feeling off-track with your goals, there are many steps you can take to get back on track.
Life isn't so bad. It's not the load that breaks you down; it's how you carry it. You can use pain and frustration as motivation rather than let it get you down. You're in control of how you view life. Distance yourself from negative thinking, and beautiful things will happen. Positive thinking will also give you more energy to face challenging days.
I can't understand when someone says, "I don't have a choice." You always have a choice! Choosing to be negative will give you plenty of reasons to stop and frown. Deciding to be positive will give you plenty of reasons to move forward and laugh. The most powerful weapon against pressure and despair is our ability to choose one thought over another. Train your mind to see the good in everything.
It's difficult, but I'm working on letting go. It's one of the most satisfying and meaningful moments in life when you finally find the courage to let go of what you can't change. When you stop grieving and fighting against what you can't control, you have more time to change the things you can control, and that changes everything.
I keep reminding myself that effort is never wasted, even when it leads to disappointing results. It makes you stronger, more knowledgeable, and more experienced. When the going gets tough, be patient and keep going. Just because you have to struggle hard does NOT mean you will fail or are incapable. Every great success demands effort.
It's okay to ask for help, as four hands or ten are better than two. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but complaining is. Complaining won't help you make progress toward your goals.
The next step is to dismiss toxic energies from your life and be more open to the people and things that matter. If you're feeling stuck, these steps might help you get back on track with your goals.
