My Stay At Innside by Meliá Yogyakarta, The First Innside Hotel In Indonesia

Yogyakarta, also known as Jogja, just got a new modern hotel from Meliá Hotels & Resorts. The INNSIDE by Meliá Hotels is a unique and stylish concept designed to provide the best experience and convenience for work and trip tribes worldwide. The INNSIDE by Meliá Yogyakarta is the first INNSIDE hotel in Indonesia. The hotel sets the standard of chic for leisure and business trips.

The Location

The INNSIDE by Meliá Yogyakarta is located in the Sleman area, just 8 8-minute drive from the Adisucipto International Airport. My ride from the airport to the INNSIDE by Meliá Hotel is never smoother with the hotel airport shuttle. Located between the airport and city centre, I found the hotel is a perfect hub for travellers who love to combine their business trips with several visits to Yogyakarta’s most popular attractions, including Prambanan Temple, Borobudur Temple, Merapi volcano, Malioboro shopping centre, and Sultan Palace.

The Room

I stayed in the sleek and modern Studio Room for five nights on two trips to Yogyakarta, where my family is from. The room I stayed in had a view of the Merapi Volcano. The place is chic and minimalist, designed with clean white as the primary colour. Standard amenities include a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, minibar, toiletries, safe, and towels.

Tip: The Merapi volcano view rooms receive Sun all day. Close the curtains to reduce the hot sun's entry into the room.

The Ambience

The hotel boasts a contemporary interior design incorporating sleek and chic elements, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for millennial travellers. This carefully curated setting is the perfect hub for relaxation and productivity between meetings.

The Pool

We are coming to the cherry on the cake: the rooftop pool. A sky swimming pool with a fantastic view of the Merapi Volcano is the best place to get soaked up by the Sun and get your tan away during your work trip. If the Sun is too sharp for your skin during the day, I recommend night swimming, which was fun with the city lights of Yogyakarta as the main view.

Improvement: During my whole stay, there were no sunbeds available. There are outdoor sofas next to the pool for a sit-down or drinks, but I don’t think this suits the poolside area.

The Amenities

The amenities in the room are great. Daily free-fill snacks and beverages in the minibar are such a plus point. However, there is an improvement in the type of coffee provided in the room. Instant coffee is never my favourite; I prefer a Dulce Gusto or Nespresso machine in the room. A good coffee is a good start to the day. But this can be solved easily by having a good coffee for breakfast.

The Restaurants

INNSIDE by Meliá Yogyakarta has three restaurants and bars. The Syndeo Restaurant is where I had my breakfast and lunch. The food was delicious. I love the Spicy Crispy Chicken with rice. The Syndeo Lobby Lounge and Cake Shop is a good place to have a quick meeting and sweets. The third one is the Sky Deck Rooftop Bar, located next to the pool. When I was there, it was closed every day, probably because of the low season.

PS. The gym will provide you with a good run on the treadmill. Due to the traffic, I did not recommend running on the street for your safety.

Ideally located in the fashionable and stylish district of Sleman and with easy access to the airport, the INNSIDE Yogyakarta invites you to relax on its spectacular rooftop terrace with a swimming pool and views of the Merapi volcano – INNSIDE by Meliá
