We all know about Bali, right? Those beaches, cultural temples and the crowded spots of tourist areas such as Kuta and Ubud. You are wrong! There are more interesting places in Bali. If travelling is about getting experiences, these tips about 8 hidden gems in Bali are for you not to be missed. There are 8 locations on the Island of Gods where you will experience ‘almost’ the same feelings as famous major places worldwide. Forget Thailand or the other Caribbean (but take me there!). This list will give you a surprisingly impressive 8 Hidden Gems in Bali. Let’s start this journey.
1. Bukit Pantai Atuh
What comes to your mind about Koh Phi Phi, Thailand? Yes, the clear water, the white beaches, the impressive rock formations, and the tropical vegetation. Bali has those stone/coral formations, too. You only need to take a trip to Banjar Pelilit, desa Pejukutan, Nusa Penida, or Kabupaten Klungkung.
2. Pantai Pasih Uug – Broken Beach
No, we are not talking about those Australian boots, UGGS. Broken Beach is named after the natural bridge formed on coral rocks over the years. Coral cliffs surround the beach, and the coral cave looks like a door to enter it. Visit this hidden beach at Nusa Penida, Banjar Sumpang, Desa Bunga Mekar. Maybe a boat trip under the natural coral bridge is for you.
3. Pantai Kubu – Only for Resort Guests
Unfortunately, this beach is a protected natural area, so it is closed only to resort guests. A bathtub made by nature in coral? You can find it in Pantai Kubu, Jimbaran. I can imagine myself enjoying the sun in my swimwear inside this natural pool.
4. Angel’s Billabong Nature Pool
Only the name reflects that this place is one you must visit. It’s not far away from Pantai Uug, but it is still in Nusa Penida. There is a river estuary with a calm water surface and clear and overdraft that form natural pools of extraordinary beauty.
5. Devil Tears, Nusa Lembongan
Bali also has a beachfront scene with a spectacular giant wave wall. There are many locations to enjoy the seawater splash on the end of a coral rock beach; one of them is the Devil Tears in Nusa Lembongan. Feel the thrill of ejected waves hitting a reef. The height of the water wall created by waves can reach 15 meters, holy molly.
6. Tegenungan Waterfall, Gianyar
Not more than 16 km from Denpasar, this hidden gem is a must-visit when you are in Bali. I am unsure if you can jump from the cliff because it is a shallow pool in the rock formation and the clear water. Head up to Desa Kemenuh, Kecamatan Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar.
7. Bukit Campuhan
When tranquillity is a thing for you and green scenery will soften your soul, this is a good alternative to Ubud. Campuhan Hill is where you can feel the embrace of nature and the verdant valleys. And you will agree to seek tranquillity among the crowd as much as possible, not just nonsense. All you need to do is rent a car or find a tour package to reach this hill.
8. Desa Pinggan, Kintamani
Bali is all about the beaches, which is a cliche, right? The beaches in Bali are, of course, still exquisite paradise. But, incredible Bali was not merely in the form of beach and sea. Try to go to Pinggan village in Kintamani and find an inspiring panorama for your traveller’s soul. When the sun peeks out of the East horizon, and haze begins to descend on the village, a magical atmosphere will magically hypnotize you, making you grateful ever to set foot there.
